Use Script Every Time You Shop and Help BCS

The PTO’s iPod Shuffle Scrip Contest was a great success thanks to the support of Balboa City School students, parents, teachers, and friends!

Scrip is a no cost way for our PTO to raise funds to support school activities and programs. When our supporters register their grocery loyalty cards, our school’s PTO earns a small percentage of the purchases made by our supporters.

This Spring, students got involved in increasing our Scrip supporters by asking their family and friends to register their grocery loyalty cards from Albertsons, Ralphs and Vons. For each new grocery loyalty card a student registered, his or her name was entered into the iPod Shuffle raffle.

The lucky winner of our raffle contest this year was Brian Mayer, a student in our Upper School!

Thank you to all who participated in making the iPod Shuffle Scrip Contest a success!

Paper Scrip

With paper Scrip, most major retailers provide us with a gift card at a slight discount. So, for example, if you purchase a $10 Starbucks gift card from us, the school gets a small percent of the purchase price. If you purchase a gift card directly from Starbucks, they get the whole $10.

We are currently selling gift cards for City Parking, Starbucks, Blockbuster Video, Barnes and Noble Book Stores and several others. Please see Jeanie in the office to purchase one of these cards.

Electronic Scrip

Electronic Scrip is similar to earning awards when using your customer loyalty cards or credit cards. For instance, if you shop at Albertson’s, you can register your grocery club cards online and they donate a portion of your purchases to Balboa City School Foundation. Or, if you like to shop online at major retailers, when you register with Schoolpop.com and go through their site to make your purchases, a portion of your purchases is donated to the school.
