All BCS teachers are qualified, credentialed professionals who are dedicated to the academic and emotional growth of their students. BCS employs three full time counselors who offer career, group and individual counseling. Staff members include a clinical psychologist, special education teachers, regular education teachers, speech and language therapists, occupational therapist, a professional artist/visual consultant and a computer specialist.
Before moving to San Diego, he lived in Boston where he earned an MTS from Harvard. Since moving to the West Coast in 1980, Dr. Parker has been working with children and adolescents. Many have gone on to successful careers in college and beyond. He founded a tutoring organization when he first moved to San Diego in 1980, as a graduate student in clinical psychology, that specialized in motivating and educating students. He also started a online tutoring organization in 1991 using a Mustang BBS. At the same time he was he counseling director of a small private school. Along the way, Dr. Parker has written a column on nutrition and behavior, developed a social skills program, started an SAT preparation course, served as an expert witness in complex legal situations regarding education, and developed the curriculum at BCS.
